ANALYSIS OF VOCABULARY USED IN SOCIAL MEDIA

Abstract

This article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of vocabulary used in social media. Social media has become one of the primary means of communication between people, and the language that develops within them has its own characteristics. Specifically, this environment widely utilizes abbreviations, words borrowed from English, slang, emoji, and graphic symbols, creating a new communicative system that differs from traditional linguistic norms. This article analyzes lexical units based on correspondence, comments, and messages on social media, and examines their semantic, functional, and stylistic properties. The study shows that vocabulary used in social media emphasizes speed, simplicity, and emotionality and often does not fully comply with the rules of standard literary language.
