LINGUISTIC SIGNIFICANCE OF HISTORICAL PERSONAL NAMES

Abstract

This article examines the linguistic significance of historical personal names and their role in preserving cultural memory, national identity, and historical continuity. Historical personal names, as an important part of anthroponymy, function not only as identifiers of specific individuals but also as carriers of social, political, and cultural meanings. The study analyzes the nominative, identificational, differential, expressive, and cultural-cumulative functions of historical anthroponyms in linguistic discourse. The article also explores how historical names contribute to stylistic expression, ideological representation, and pragmatic interpretation in texts.
