Abstract

This comparative study examines how affixal derivation and transpositional mechanisms contribute to the formation and development of phraseological units in Uzbek and French. Drawing on a qualitative corpus of literary texts, journalistic sources, dictionaries, and existing linguistic analyses, the research analyzes morphological processes (prefixation, suffixation, parasynthesis), the role of affixoids, and the pathways by which variable word combinations become fixed idioms.
