Abstract

This article is about the causes of earthquakes, the main mechanisms of their formation and classification by origin and characteristics. Particular attention was paid to the differences between tectonic, volcanic and artificial earthquakes, as well as the features of their manifestation, strength, duration and scale of destruction.
